Supporting the 16 Days of Action and White Ribbon Campaign 2025
Civil Orders for those Experiencing Domestic Abuse
This session will be provided by the National Centre for Domestic Violence (NCDV)
Available dates and times:
- Tuesday 2nd December 2025, 11:00am – 12:00pm
- Tuesday 9th December 2025, 11:00am – 12:00pm
Learning Outcomes:
- Knowledge of the current definition of domestic abuse
- Awareness of the Domestic Abuse Act 2021 and the key themes
- Understanding of the civil protective orders NCDV can obtain (Non-molestation Orders, Occupation Orders Prohibited Steps Orders and also Domestic Abuse Protection Orders – in the pilot areas) and their criteria/eligibility
- Awareness of Legal Aid funding and self-representing as a Litigant in Person including those with no recourse to public funds
- Awareness of the benefits of the orders available
- Understanding the civil court process in obtaining an order and how the order is served onto the abuser

Behind Closed Doors: Understanding and Supporting Those Who Have Experienced Domestic Abuse
This session will be provided by RASAC – Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre

We use your data to provide certificates once you have attended one of the sessions we provide, and to ensure that we have an appropriate sign in register with your name for fire safety purposes. After the 3 year period we will ensure that your data/information is destroyed in accordance under the new GDPR act.

Courses are free for the statutory, voluntary and community sector in Wakefield, however failure to attend without giving prior notice may result in a charge to cover costs.
