Engage and influence the work of the multi-agency workforce and the local community to support activity to keep children and young people safe.
Improve the Board’s effectiveness in reducing the harm to children in vulnerable groups, with particular focus on children and young people living with neglect, domestic abuse, those at risk of sexual or criminal exploitation, and those in need of emotional health and wellbeing provision.
Review and evaluate the effectiveness of the partnership to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people in Wakefield and District, and respond to any areas for change and development, while maintaining all statutory functions through the transition to the new arrangements.
The Wakefield Safeguarding Children Partnership (WSCP) is a partnership of all of the relevant statutory, voluntary and community agencies involved in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people in Wakefield.
The WSCP is the key statutory mechanism for agreeing how the relevant children’s organisations in Wakefield co-operate to safeguard and promote the well-being of children and young people and for ensuring the effectiveness of what they do.
