Serious Youth Violence

Safeguarding Week June 2024

With input from the Violence Reduction Partnership, Youth Justice Service, West Yorkshire Police, Ivison Trust, St Giles Trust and WSCP audit activity we had a West Yorkshire wide audience where we shared best practice, a deeper understanding and knowledge around serious violence in the area and gained an invaluable insight into the lived experience of both child, parent and victim.

Trauma: A Lifespan Perspective

Safeguarding Week June 2023

Learn more about Wakefield’s response to Trauma and its commitment to the West Yorkshire vision of becoming trauma informed with a responsive and whole system approach by 2030. 

Part 1 covers the consideration of early developmental trauma from Education Psychology, and how the Future in Minds, CAMHS team are responding to and supporting the workforce.

Perplexing Presentations (PP) & Fabricated or Induced Illness (FII)

February 2023

In 2021 new protocols around Perplexing Presentations (PP) and Fabricated or Induced Illness (FII) were introduced. This Masterclass provided clarification around these changes, referral pathways and updated procedures.

Part 1 of the masterclass includes an in-depth review of PP/FII procedures and guidance around the importance of chronology recording.
