Non-fatal strangulation (NFS) is recognised as a significant indicator of escalating domestic abuse and serious harm. Despite its high-risk nature, there may be little or no visible injury, making it vital that practitioners understand how to identify and respond to concerns effectively.

Wakefield Safeguarding Children Partnership is promoting a series of free Non-Fatal Strangulation webinars delivered by SafeLives in partnership with the Institute for Addressing Strangulation. The training explores the risks associated with NFS, its links to domestic abuse and sexual violence, and the safeguarding implications for children and families.

The webinars are suitable for professionals working across safeguarding, children’s services, education, health, police, early help, domestic abuse services and the voluntary sector.
