WSCP E-Bulletin - March Edition Now Available!
The March edition of the Wakefield Safeguarding Children Partnership (WSCP) e-bulletin is now available for you to download. Once again this edition is packed full of useful information and key updates including:
- Financially Motivated Sexual Extortion - Learning Exchange Recording & Campaign Materials Now Available -If you were unable to attend the WSCP learning exchange event held in March on the subject of financially motivated sexual extortion, you can now watch the recording from this event. You can also access the campaign materials published by the National Crime Agency (NCA) to raise awareness of financially motivated sexual extortion.
- Safeguarding Week 2025 - Safeguarding week will soon be here - we ask you to "save the date" of 25th June when WSCP will be looking to host events around SEND, LGBTQIA+ and Working with Men - more information to follow!
- #TwoStepsBack - Watch the "Quack, Quack, Take Two Steps Back" video aimed at toddlers and small children, designed to teach them how to stay safe near water.
- Multi-Agency Training Opportunities - Once again there is an abundance of other training opportunities for you to book onto in this edition ranging from Multi-Agency Neglect: A Shared Responsibility Training to The Children's Society's Programme of Learning for April to September 2025, plus much more! Check it out and see if there is anything that could be of use to you in your day-to-day practice, details of how to book onto all the training courses are detailed in the e-bulletin.

- It Does Matter - Educating and Empowering Victims of Non-Contact Sexual Offences - Watch the video published by Thames Valley Police to learn why it is very important to report all non-contact sexual offences.
- Top Safety Tips for Families - The Child Accident Prevention Trust (CAPT) have published some handy safety tips to help parents/carers identify hazards within the home environment and simple changes that can be made to help keep children safe from them. For instance, with Easter approaching did you know something such as mini-egg could pose a choking risk to a small child.
