The Wakefield Safeguarding Children Partnership (WSCP) has released its March 2026 E‑Bulletin, packed with new guidance, training opportunities, helpful resources, and important updates for professionals, parents, and partners across the district. Here’s a quick round‑up of the highlights.
Tackling Exploitation: Partnership Learning Exchange Event
Our Child Exploitation Awareness Week Learning Exchange brought partners together from across the district for a powerful session centred on our new MACE Strategy. With strong feedback and renewed commitment, more Learning Exchanges are planned throughout 2026.
New ‘Working Together’ Guidance
The DfE has updated Working Together to Safeguard Children 2026, strengthening guidance on babies’ needs, racism and discrimination, domestic abuse, and multi‑harm experiences.
NEW Multi‑Agency Training Brochure
Our new training brochure for March is now live, featuring courses on neglect, LGBTQIA+ support, parental conflict, safer sleep, child exploitation and more — plus access to recorded sessions, podcasts and one‑minute guides.

We’ve updated several areas, including:
- Neglect (now covering affluent neglect)
- SEND Toolkit with new NSPCC resources
- Child Exploitation Speak Up, Stand Up, Stop Exploitation pages featuring our published MACE Strategy
- A new Emotional Abuse & Wellbeing page
Support for Families & Professionals
- Lullaby Trust: Explore the Baby Check App and resources on sleep deprivation.
- #LookCloser: Access brilliant exploitation awareness tools from The Children’s Society.
- Education: Free NSPCC safeguarding programmes, road safety resources, and new transition-to-secondary schools materials.
- Support for Dads: Wakefield Families Together launches a dedicated page of help and practical advice specifically for dads.
- When Things Go Wrong Online: A simple one‑page guide for parents from Skips Safety Net.
Spotlight on Safety & Support
- CSA Centre: New research summaries, tools for Social Work Week, and updated reports on support for parents.
- CAPT Safety Tips: March insights on toy recalls, mini‑egg choking risks, and Child Safety Week (1–7 June).
