WSCP E-Bulletin July 2026 - Now Available!
The latest Wakefield Safeguarding Children Partnership (WSCP) E-Bulletin is now available, packed with safeguarding updates, learning opportunities, resources and guidance for professionals working with children, young people and families.
This month's highlights include:
- Families First Partnership Communication & Engagement Event taking place on 20 August, with opportunities to learn about and help shape future developments in family support services.
- New Engaging with Men Toolkit, providing practical guidance and resources to help professionals effectively engage fathers, male carers and other significant men in children's lives.
- SafeTALK Suicide Alertness Training on 26 August, helping participants recognise the signs of suicide and develop the confidence to start potentially life-saving conversations.
- Modern Slavery and Child Trafficking Masterclass recordings are now available to watch on demand.
- August Training Opportunities, including Child Exploitation, Neglect, Safe Sleep, Perinatal Mental Health, LGBTQIA+ safeguarding and much more.
- Summer safety advice for families, including water safety guidance, online safety resources and baby safety tips from The Lullaby Trust.
- Important education updates, including changes within Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) 2026, school attendance guidance and new anti-bullying resources.
- New safeguarding resources from the Child Safeguarding Practice Review Panel, NSPCC and the Centre of Expertise on Child Sexual Abuse.
- Lumi Nova, a free digital tool available to Wakefield families to support children experiencing anxiety.
- The e-bulletin also includes updates on product recalls, online safety, child sexual abuse resources, Family Rights Group support and a range of useful links for professionals and parents/carers.
