Wakefield Safeguarding Children Partnership (WSCP) has published the December 2025 edition its safeguarding E-Bulletin, packed with vital information, training opportunities, and resources for professionals, parents, and carers. Key highlights of this month's edition include:

- New Campaign: Children’s Safety on Our Roads
Phase 1 focuses on moped and e-scooter safety following 31 serious incidents in 2025 in the Wakefield District. Resources and posters are available for parents and professionals.
- Drug Awareness Masterclass
The recording from this event is now available if you were not able to attend on the day. It covers local trends, rising ketamine use, and referral pathways.
- Festive Safeguarding Messages
- Christmas Risks: Increased vulnerability for children during holidays – know the signs and report concerns.
- Safer Sleep for Babies: Guidance for families on safer sleep when you might be travelling to stay with friends and family over Christmas and be out of your usual routine
- Coping with Grief: We provide details of resources that might be useful to children and families who are grieving including the contact number for The Lullaby Trust's and Cruses' bereavement support helplines, which are open over the Christmas and New Year period.

From 1 January 2026, Cranstoun will deliver Wakefield DASS, offering integrated support for victims and survivors.
