WSCP E-Bulletin - April's Edition Now Available
The April edition of the Wakefield Safeguarding Children Partnership (WSCP) e-bulletin is now available for you to download. Once again this edition is packed full of useful information and key updates including:
- Safeguarding Week 2025! -Taking place from the 23rd to the 27th June, there are a number of FREE learning and development opportunities available to you throughout the week. Read the article to find out what's on offer this year from Wakefield Safeguarding Children Partnership and across the wider West Yorkshire district.
- Pitfure Boys Group - Find out more about this new project created and being implemented by the West Yorkshire Police Early Action Team, formed with the aim of delivering education and to support boys within the Wakefield district. The article contains the link to the referral form for this group, should you need this.
- Water Safety Information - Just because the weather is getting warmer, water, particularly at open water sites, is still very cold. We remind all children and young people why water safety is important throughout the whole year, and provide advice, information and links to further resources providing guidance about how to stay safe and be water wise.
- Multi-Agency Training Opportunities - There is plenty of training opportunities available again this month, on a whole range of topics from domestic abuse, Every Sleep a Safer Sleep, Improving Cultural Competency, Identifying and Addressing Barriers to Better Outcomes, to SafeTALK Suicide Alertness training, plus a whole lot more. The majority, if not all of the training opportunities are FREE, read the e-bulletin to find out more and see if there is training available that could help you in your every day practice.
- WSCP Website Updates - We have been busy updating a number of our webpages this month, check out the article to see exactly what has been updated!
- Teenage Pregnancy Toolkit- This has been produced by professionals on the back of the Teenage Pregnancy Strategy which was launched May 2024. The toolkit has been produced to aid professionals working with young people, and provides advice, guidance, and signposting to services available.
