WSCP E-Bulletin - May's Edition Now Available!
The May edition of the Wakefield Safeguarding Children Partnership (WSCP) e-bulletin is now available for you to download. Once again this edition is packed full of useful information and key updates including:
- Safeguarding Week 2025! - Places Still Available! -Taking place from the 23rd to the 27th June, there are a number of FREE learning and development opportunities available to you throughout the week. There are places still available for you to book onto, so read the article to find out what's on offer this year from Wakefield Safeguarding Children Partnership and across the wider West Yorkshire district.
- Wakefield District's New Children & Young People's Plan Launched - Take a look at the new plan and see what the vision is for children and young people across the Wakefield district from 2025 - 2028.
- WSCP Vacancy - Learning and Development Lead - The WSCP Business Unit is looking to recruit a new Learning and Development Lead to join the team - could this be you or perhaps someone you know who you think would be suitable. Read the article to download the job description and details of how to apply for this role.
- Multi-Agency Training Opportunities - There is plenty of training opportunities available again this month, on a whole range of topics including Online Safety Live Event 2026, NWG's Exploitation & Transitional Safeguarding Event, Online Safeguarding Essentials, and Building Positive Relationships with Children - an Online Session for Yorkshire and Humber, plus lots of other training opportunities. All of this training is FREE, read the e-bulletin to find out more and see if there is training available that could help you in your every day practice.
- Water Safety including the new WSCP Campaign about Peer Pressure and Water Safety - With the warmer months here we have provided a lot of water safety information and resources in this months edition, including how to make sure your outside space is safe for children. We also provide information about the latest WSCP campaign which is about helping children respond to peer pressure, if they find themselves in a situation when they are being encouraged/pressured into entering open water when they really don't want to.
- Lumi Nova - Tales of Courage - Find out more about this digital therapeutic mobile game which is designed to support children aged 7 - 12 years, who suffer with fears, worries and anxiety.
