WSCP E-Bulletin - February's Edition Now Available!
February's edition of the Wakefield Safeguarding Children Partnership (WSCP) e-bulletin is now available for you to download. Once again this edition is packed full of useful information and key updates including:
- WSCP Launch New Starter Section of the Knowledge Hub -This new webpage has been specifically designed for all new employees and volunteers as an introduction to multi-agency work. New employees/volunteers will have access to to information that will enable them to more effectively safeguard children in and around the Wakefield area.
- NEW WSCP Learning Events - We are promoting a number of new learning events this month. This includes our latest Learning Exchange Event titled Financially Motivated Sexual Exploitation, our latest Safeguarding Welfare in Sport Information Session and new dates for our Multi-Agency Neglect: A Shared Responsibility Training. - WSCP Independent Scrutineer Vacancy - Could you, or someone you know, be the next WSCP Independent Scrutineer? Find out more about this role and how to apply - the closing date for applications is the 9th March.
- Multi-Agency Training Opportunities - Once again there is an abundance of other training opportunities for you to book onto in this edition ranging from Challenging Stereotypes Training to Young Carers: Awareness Identification Training, plus much more! Check it out and see if there is anything that could be of use to you in your day-to-day practice, details of how to book onto all the training courses are detailed in the e-bulletin.
- WSCP Website Updates - We have been busy updating a number of our webpages this month, check out the article to see exactly what has been updated!
- LGBTQIA+ New Resources - WSCP have launched a new LGBTQIA+ resource page with links to guidance, frameworks, case studies, reports and videos as as well as the latest training from Spectrum which was recorded in January 2025. All can be accessed via the links contained within the e-bulletin.
- Top Safety Tips for Families - The Child Accident Prevention Trust (CAPT) have published some handy safety tips to help parents/carers identify hazards within the home environment and simple changes that can be made to help keep children safe from them.
