The Learning Academy i collaboration with FCAMHS have three courses on Harmful Sexualised Behaviours for 2025 available to multi-agency staff.

There are 3 different courses that will run on various dates this year, see below for descriptions for each and the date they are scheduled for.

 

Introduction to Harmful Sexual Behaviour (HSB) 

Available dates, times and location:

  • Friday 14th March 2025, 09:30 – 12:30, taking place at Chesney’s Centre – BOOK NOW

Course features: 

  • Demographics and characteristic of children that display HSB
  • Research base
  • Recognising and responding to HSB
  • Impact of this area of work – space to reflect on this
  • Importance of involving families
  • Role of FCAMHS – consultation, assessment, formulation and intervention Signposting and resources

 

Introduction to Technology Harmful Sexual Behaviours (TA HSB)

Available dates, times and location:

  • Wednesday 18th July 2025, 09:30 – 12:30, taking [lace at Chesney’s Centre – BOOK NOW

Course features: 

  • Children’s vulnerabilities online
  • Prevalence of TA HSB
  • Demographics and characteristics of children that display TA HSB
  • Recognising and responding to TA HSB
  • Challenges presented by technology – space to reflect on this
  • Role of FCAMHS – consultation, assessment, formulation and intervention
  • Signposting and resources

 

 

Harmful Sexual Behaviours Safety Planning (HSB SP)

Available dates, times and location:

  • Thursday 25th September 2025, 09:30 -12:30, taking place at Chesney’s Centre – BOOK NOW

Course features: 

  • Factors to consider in safety planning
  • Involving the child and family
  • Professional roles within safety planning
  • Considering communication / learning needs
  • Balancing risk and need
  • Case studies to develop safety plans
  • Role of FCAMHS

The personal data that we collect about you are: your name, email, phone number and work address. If you require a copy of the data we hold for you, you can contact us by emailing wscpevents@wakefield.gov.uk.

Courses are free for the statutory, voluntary and community sector in Wakefield, however failure to attend without giving prior notice may result in a charge to cover costs. You may now be charged for undertaking our training if you are outside of Wakefield. Please see the Charging Policy for full details.
