Forced Marriage and Honour Based Abuse occurs in a number of different communities living in Wakefield District. It affects children and adults, women and also men, and has clear links to domestic abuse with lifelong consequences for victims. Sometimes victims themselves are not aware that what they are experiencing is abuse.
This session covers the background including relevant cultural factors and will consider case studies. There will be opportunities for discussion and questions as well as clear information about safeguarding warning signs and responses.
