All education establishments in Wakefield are encouraged to undertake an annual self-assessment of their safeguarding arrangements. Linking in locally with the safeguarding partners is important and can be evidenced by this audit. The Safeguarding Advisor for Education reviews and updates the full audit tool to ensure that it is consistent with all local priorities, current statutory guidance and the Ofsted inspection framework. This will be updated annually. Please email the advisor for a copy.
This is a self-evaluation and it is designed to be a learning process and a mechanism by which strengths and areas for development can be identified by the DSL team. This can then be signed off by governors and kept for your own records and review. There is no need to return this document.
If there are any queries or you would like a consultation with the advisor to discuss, please contact me on the details below.
The short Online audit, issued in the spring term, will require all school/colleges to complete and return as evidence for the safeguarding partnership.
