Support and advice for families, children and young people


During these difficult times, you and your family may need some extra support.

We’ve put together the support services that are available to access during the lockdown for both well-being and practical support.

Support and advice for families, children and young people – A one stop shop to signpost you to local support – Family Health information for Wakefield families – Online support, webchat and helplines– Access support and chat online with the Wakefield Youth Team

Health Visiting continue to offer both online contact and home visiting, School Nursing can be contacted regarding any support needed around health care packages – TEL 01924 310130 (Mon-Fri 9am-4.30pm)

Our Children First Hubs provide family support and are open through the week to offer a listening ear, advice and support – TEL 01924 303272 (Mon-Fri 9am-4.30pm)

If you or your child need emotional well-being support, there is support available – Online support for young people– TEL 01924 234860 – Helpline for adults (16+)

National websites and advice lines– TEL 0800 1111 – Online, on the phone, anytime – TEL 116 123 – 24 hours a day, 365 days a year – Provides contact details of a number of organisations offering crisis support, helplines and listening services

Practical help and money advice – Support with the impact of coronavirus around jobs, money and well-being – Support with benefits and money management – Online free advice to help you find a way forward – Information and guidance on free school meal applications
