With Christmas just around the corner The Child Accident Prevention Trust (CAPT) are reminding parents/carers of the dangers which button batteries can pose to a child, especially as many toys now contain them.

Button batteries, in particular big, powerful lithium coin cell batteries, can badly hurt or kill a child if they swallow one and it gets stuck in their food pipe. They can now be found in lots of different toys and also the Christmas decorations that you may soon be displaying around your home.
